Who Am I?
I’m Connor Benskin. An educator (both k-12 and higher education) who forms his own path but stays true to himself. Connor Benskin, a Dallas, TX native, has grown up in various cities around America being a son of a marine. While being exposed to so many different cultures and getting an appreciation for them, Connor always found love of his own culture and how every culture contributes to society.
This is my blog. Welcome to a piece of me that you can take with you wherever you go.

What This Blog Is About?
In this blog ,you will be collecting my thoughts. Just my thoughts man. See I have two vastly different parts of me that you will be able to see. It’s almost like the double-consciousness of being black and American. But this one is for me being an educator and also a creative. That’s where the two different people come into play: The Dapper Professor and The Hustler.
As you can probably tell, The Dapper Professor is the educator. I’ve been in education all of my life. It’s the family business. Teachers, principals, social workers, public relations personnel, administrators, coaches. My family has it all when it comes to education. You can say that helped mold me. Although my parents weren’t good at STEM subjects, I was able to get my bachelors in mathematics I continued my education a year later and getting my masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I’ve spent time as a Student Affairs professional for the past 8 years. Before that I was an Algebra Teacher and before that I worked for as a programmer for NASA. While at times education can seem like it confines you to one industry, I’m here to remind you that educators are the necessary profession that teaches all professions. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing on this blog. Teaching you and giving you insight on what certain topics might mean. Why? Because, we’re the foundation. WE CAN GO ANYWHERE AND DO ANYTHING.
The other side of me is The Hustler. Before you get in the game, you watch it from the sidelines first. You watch film. You watch how other people play the game. You study the weaknesses and the strengths. The cost and the demand. The customer and the service(s)/goods provider. Then when it’s your time to play, you do the same exact thing. Build upon your strengths and eliminate your weaknesses. See throughout my life, I was able to see most of my interests turn into even larger industries whether it was food, clothing/fashion, video games, music, tv and film, or footwear. These industries are always being reinvented and best believe my culture, Black culture, plays a pivotal role in all of it. And I’m gonna get a piece of that pie. That’s The Hustler.
That’s what this blog is gonna be about: Culture, Multimedia entertainment (music, tv and film, video games), fashion, footwear , and food. Welcome to my thoughts and welcome to my culture.
